At OSY Rentals, safety-first isn’t just a slogan - it’s how we operate every day. A recent job in Northern Alberta demonstrated the power of proactive safety culture when a Field-Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) stopped an incident before it could happen.
Our crew was mobilizing a vapour-tight tank for a client’s production site. During the FLHA, one of our technicians identified a nearby ignition source within the planned exclusion zone. Under OSY’s stop-work authority, the job was immediately paused.
The hazard was mitigated by:
- Relocating the ignition source outside of the exclusion zone
- Installing additional barricades and hazard signage
- Conducting a toolbox talk to realign the entire crew on the updated plan
Because the hazard was caught before work began, the job was completed safely, on schedule, and without compromise to equipment or personnel.
